New Build Patio Extension, Longridge

When this new build garden in Longridge was finished by the developer, it was left with little more than a narrow path — no real space to actually sit out and enjoy the garden. We installed a proper patio extension off the back of the property, giving the homeowners a functional seating area rather than just a strip of paving to walk across. It’s a small addition that makes a big difference to how the garden actually gets used

What This Patio Project Included

The garden came straight from the developer with just a narrow path running along the back of the house – barely enough room for a bin store, let alone somewhere to sit out. With a full lawn but no real patio space, the homeowners were left with a garden that looked finished on paper but didn’t actually give them anywhere to relax outside.

We dug out and extended the area beyond the original path, excavating down to a proper sub-base and levelling it off ready for laying. Getting the groundwork right here was key — a wider patio needs solid, well-compacted foundations to stay level and drain properly, especially with Lancashire weather to contend with, so we took the time to prepare it properly before a single slab went down.

The finished patio gives the homeowners a proper outdoor seating area for the first time — plenty of room for furniture and dining space right off the back doors, rather than just a path to walk across. It’s transformed how the garden can actually be used, turning an afterthought of a new build plot into a space the family will get real use out of.
